High Blood Pressure – A Solution Without Drugs
Most older adults know that blood pressure over--0/90 is considered high blood pressure and that healthy blood pressure is 120/80 or lower. But what does that mean? The first number is the systolic blood pressure, which means the pressure of blood against the artery walls when the heart beats. The second number is the diastolic blood pressure - the pressure of the blood when the heart is at rest (in between beats). Blood pressure goes high when the flow of blood encounters resistance in the arteries.
An Explanation of Chelation
Chelation (pronounced key-LAY-shun) is a process in which chemicals unite with minerals. It comes from the Greek chele, which means "claw." Like a claw, a chelation agent will grab and chemically bond with minerals, metals or poisons. The process occurs naturally in a body (blood hemoglobin unites with iron and thus oxygen is provided to parts of the body). Man first created chelation agents during World War II to rid the body of toxic metals. Scientists synthesized a ring of molecules which encircled mineral molecules and eliminated them from the body.
Chelation Therapy And Heavy Metal Detoxification
Chelation therapy is a method for removing toxic heavy metals from our bodies and comes in two different forms - oral chelation therapy and IV (intravenous) chelation therapy. IV chelation therapy is administered by a doctor only and is most commonly used for removing certain kinds of plaque from our arteries to improve blood flow. The plaques in question are formed from a bond of calcium and various toxic heavy metals and specific chemicals are pumped into the blood to dissolve the plaque.
Advances In Alternative Medicine
Doctors who have not gotten the results they want from traditional medicine tend to be pioneers and often find solutions in alternative medicine. Natural therapies have been in use for many years, and some have come up with proven success in treating patients who have not been helped by conventional doctors. As advances in alternative medicine yield success after success, these therapies often become mainstream.
